In November, a CVP double-hung vinyl window was put to the test by a criminal in Hampton. A home invader tried to break in by jamming a wood stake between the top and bottom sashes. Although the force broke the left tilt latch and lock, the window’s structural integrity and other locking components held the window in place.
The home is managed by the Hampton Housing and Redevelopment Authority. Custom Vinyl Products supplied replacement windows to the project.
Police are investigating, but believe the invader left the scene after realizing the break in attempt was unsuccessful. We hope our customers are never in this situation. But, we’re glad that the CVP window performed its job, providing a high level of security against intrusive force.
